PhoneSnoop is an application written for the Blackberry that will allow a remote third party person to listen in on anything happening in the background of where the Blackberry is. The app itself seems quite simple in concept, and really dangerous. I’m sure that RIM knows about these types of security holes with their product, and similarly, I’m sure that RIM isn’t alone in these types of security issues.
Here’s how the app works. You take your friend’s (or enemy’s) Blackberry.
1. Load the PhoneSnoop application.
2. Call the phone from a pre-specified phone number.
3. Phone answers.
4. Listen.
