Fisher, As far as your black screen goes, I've had the same thing happen to me twice since updating the phone. First time I was waiting to go into the dentist. After my appointment, the phone had come back to life by itself. The second time, I popped the back and pulled the battery. When I put the battery back in, it rebooted. I would also like to know if I have a bad phone or if it's a problem with 2.2

July 9, 2010 I received the notice on my phone that 2.2 was ready to download on my phone. It went thru several iterations and did an exit. I did not turn off the phone but when I went to make a call it was off. Two or three minutes later it was off again. An hour later it would not start, just a black screen. I recharged the battery this morning. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry- one other thing that makes 2.2 awesome: the chrome-to-phone extension which lets you send urls or google maps from your desktop to your phone with one click. Very handy!

I downloaded and installed 2.2 manually (got tired of waiting patiently for my turn with the OTA) and it was simple, smooth and easy. Then a few hours later there was another very small update, to FRF91 which I installed manually as well.

No issues whatsoever during the install. The links for the manual update file and the instructions on how to do it were all over the web, and on the Google.com/phone forums in particular, and it was easy as pie.

Running FRF91 now, speed is noticeably enhanced, Flash is a bit stilted for video but works great on those sites where radio stations use Flash to stream their stations live, the tethering/using your N1 as a hotspot is fantastic, moving apps to the sd card works, though not all apps let you do that yet, and the freed up memory on the phone even without moving apps to the card is excellent.

An easy update to do manually, and an awesome update to have :)
