On September 11, 2012, Digitcom Canada was awarded Gold Award for Best Small Business Solution Provider at the Canadian Channel Elite Awards. The honour is awarded “to the company for the most innovative problem-solving hardware and networking, cloud-based or software-based solution.”
The Canadian Channel Elite Awards are given out annually to recognize IT solution providers for “innovation, leadership and commitment to creating value for their customers.”
Digitcom’s honour was presented at the Canadian Channel Elite Awards Gala at the Paramount Conference and Event Centre in Woodbridge, Ontario.
“This is a great achievement for Digitcom Canada as one of the leading telecom companies in Canada,” said Digitcom CEO Jeff Wiener. “The award is a symbol of great success and dedication by Digitcom’s management and the entire team. Digitcom continues to improve its customer service, business growth, and recognizes the needs to integrate telecom and data services for the SME business sector.”
Digitcom won the award in part due to the migration of from a dated digital telephone system to a Pure IP-based telephone system due to the fact that the older system no longer met the client’s needs. Digitcom took on the assignment, knowing that the potential costs would be great. A considerable amount of cabling would be required and an alternative solution meant that more work would be necessary to ensure that the right data switches were put in place. Both solutions were problematic, however, as they exceeded the client’s budgetary limits.
To meet the challenge, Digitcom selected the Avaya IP Office 500v2 solution in a Pure IP environment. The Phybridge Phyadaptor meant that Digitcom could use the client’s existing cabling apparatus to deliver the phone system. As a result of this approach, the expensive alternatives were avoided. Third party conference calling services were also eliminated, with the multiple conference bridges included in Avaya’s IP Office.
The approach illustrated Digitcom’s ability to think on the fly and work outside the box, offering a workable and versatile solution to a client in need and saving money in the process.
