Telus Corp. has long been involved in the health care field. From its June 2010 development of Telus Health Space to its February of 2012 acquisition of Wolf Medical Systems, the company’s presence in the field has been dynamic and effective.
With the launch of Telushealth.com, Telus has gone a step further and has created an online hub for all of its e-health services.
The idea behind the website is to consolidate the information pertaining to Telus’ health-related product line all in one place. The site also contains information for doctors, pharmacists, patients, and even insurance providers when it comes to what Telus is up to in the expanding health care field.
Telus has dumped more than $1 billion into its health care services thus far, so Telushealth.com gives them a chance to bask in the glow while providing key information for those in need.
Aesthetically, the site looks an awful lot like Telus’ normal consumer products websites. This is by design, as the easy-to-use interface will help users get where they want to go quickly and easily. There’s a lot of information on the site, though, and that should prove helpful for interested parties.
“We believe that for Canada’s healthcare industry to truly improve, it must harness the power of the very same technologies that are revolutionizing every other industry – from banking, airlines and insurance, to automotive and beyond,” said Paul Lepage, senior vice-president, Telus Health. “By combining the experience of a trusted telecommunications company with healthcare expertise and innovation, Telus Health has created the new Telushealth.com to showcase solutions that link Canadian patients with their providers and turn information into better health outcomes.”
Telushealth.com includes information pertaining to eClaims, personal health records and even home care monitoring services. Information is designed on a by-province basis, which means that specific regulations and details will be available to different consumers in different regions of the country. There are also various educational resources, along with news releases and other publications, that can aid professionals in serving their patients.
“The new Telushealth.com is part of our revamped digital and external communications strategy – we’re committed to providing valuable resources to customers in a clear and thoughtful manner,” said Lepage. “And this is just the beginning. As Telus Health products and services continue to evolve to meet the demands of Canada’s dynamic healthcare market, so too will the website. Our goal is to make Telushealth.com, as well as other Telus Health resources, usable and useful for all Canadians.”
