I've been reading about reports all over the internet which suggest that Palm may be nearing its end. I'm astonished and rather disappointed with the recent media statements from the top boss at Palm.

"The reason for the slump in sales, according to Palm chairman and CEO Jon Rubinstein , is the slower than expected consumer adoption of its revolutionary products, resulting in reduced order volumes from carriers."

Jon, stop kidding about 'revolutionary products' for god sake!

If you know that your company is not doing well, you should try and set the record straight rather than put a lame excuse which indicates that Palm is just not good enough to survive amidst strong competitors.

Palm might well eventually be lapped up by one of the biggies. Any comments/ thoughts on what's the road ahead for Palm and who might buy this ailing company to revive it's fortunes?

Cheers,
Joe

Yeah, it looks like a slow and sad end to a great company. I read this recent post by Jeff about Palm's disappointing sales and incurring losses.

How long would Palm survive, a quarter or two (at best). I'd be very surprised if Palm does manage to see the light of day in 2011.

I'd tend to agree that Palm is nearing its end. I'm however surprised that it continues to sign up with biggies like AT&T and Bell Mobility. With Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus, Palm is making a last ditch effort to save itself.

As an ardent Palm lover, I hope that Palm can weather this storm and come back with a bang with a more powerful webOS and a trendy new phone

My 2 cents,
Rod
