by Jeff Wiener on January 5, 2010

Avaya has launched a new Unified Communication client, the Avaya One-X Communicator which aims to simplify collaboration and communication for enterprise users. The Avaya One-X Communicator brings together instant messaging, voice and video in the same package.

Though it provides many other useful features such as simplified contact management, visual voicemail, desktop integration, ad hoc and bridge conferencing etc, the video collaboration makes it an impressive shift enabling technology.

Video Collaboration is an integral part of Avaya’s Unified Communication platform and Avaya One-X Communicator augments the company’s position as the leader in collaboration and communication solutions. It allows you to see your contacts, their status and make video calls to your contacts with just a single click. You can patch up to 6 participants into the video call. The One-X Communicator detects the active speaker on the call and adjusts with video windows size of all participants accordingly.

What’s more – the Avaya One-X Communicator offers automatic bandwidth management and ensures reliable video communication. With video kiosks, video cell phones and other video endpoints gaining in popularity, the Avaya One-X Communicator is certainly a right move by Avaya in its’ quest for the top spot in communication and collaboration market space.
