Avaya Nortel product roadmap. Or is it the Nortel Avaya product road map ? Info now released

by Jeff Wiener on January 15, 2010

Avaya Nortel. Nortel Avaya. You’re wondering what’s happened to your old Nortel phone system. Where did Nortel go ? What is Avaya doing with the old Nortel product line and will it continue to be supported ?

As a very short synopsis, Nortel filed for bankruptcy in January 2009. Avaya acquired the Nortel asset base and closed the transaction on December 18th, 2009 at which time they promised a product road map announcement to be delivered on January 19th 2010 to the public, and January 11th 2010 to the dealer community.

As President of Digitcom.ca I have provided extensive consultation to current and prospective customers on recommendation moving forward. That’s what Digitcom does – sells Avaya, Cisco, Nortel … voice and data solutions. From a blog perspective TheTelecomBlog.com has followed the Nortel fiasco quite extensively over the course of the last year. And now that the product roadmap has been “officially” announced, we will be doing a series of posts to cover the roadmap.

These posts cover all product lines, road map, direction, survivability of product and our opinion moving forward.
