480 What CTI layers / protocols will you expose to the customer? CCT? AES? AIC? something new?
Avaya NGCC will expose the APIs of Communications Control Toolkit (CCT), including the new powerful web services.

479 For the products to TDM in nortel OPC.11C what is the product to replace??
Review with your sales representative the available options for you. These would include products such as CS 1000E TDM R6.0.

478 Will Avaya keep the relationship with HP after their recent acquisition announcements(3Com)?
Yes. Avaya is planning to continuing the HP relationship, and it remains unaffected by the recent 3com acquisition.

477 Can you tell me where the slides from this presentation are located on the Avaya website ?
There will documents available for download available with the on-demand replay, beginning 9:00am, Thursday, January 21.

476 Will CS1000 customers be required to update to a newer release to take full advantage of the Avaya integration points?
Always recommend to update to latest release (6.0 right now) for support purposes. Initial testing with Aura will also be based on latest release for same support reason, plus latest releases have greatest capabilities with respect to SIP.

475 How does the merger affect the Nortel partner training dollars
the Nortel MAF remain available and can be applied to training on Nortel or Avaya platforms.

474 will the cs1000 range still be sold in two years
The CS 1000 continues to be sold and supported. We are not announcing any EOS for this platform. Avaya Customers and partners can be confident as they purchase, expand and evolve their solution. Avaya is committed to continuing 9 mos. selling following any EOS announcement and an additional 6 yrs of support (support and extended support). Please refer to the Roadmap sessions for additional detail.

472 Can you please tell me when support will end for the BCM400 and not just point us to a bulletin that cannot be found.
I appreciate your comment. The bulletin says early 2012 for software and early 2013 for hardware.

470 We have call pilot currently deployed for our messaging platform, how long will it be supported and will it be integrated into the Avaya Aura environment?
CallPilot continues to be supported. Over time CallPilot and Modular Messaging will evolve to a best-in-call next-generation messaging platform with Aura.

469 What is going to happen to Call Pilot?
Callpilot continues to be supported. The roadmap provides a natural evolution to a next generation UMessaging solution that will leverage best of CallPilot and Modular Messaging products.
468 What is the roadmap for Nortel 1100 series IP sets?
1000 Series IP clients continue to be developed and sold. These clients support SIP software making them a flexible client solution.
467 We have some CS1K’s running 5.5 which were just installed. Can we utilise the Aura with 5.5 or are their hooks in 6.0 which offer fuller integration.

466 383 So will CS1K only continue to be sold to existing sites that already have CS1K, or will new sites still be able to purchase and deploy CS1K?
Customers will be able to purchase CS1k if it meets their requirements, whether they are an existing CS1k customer or not.
465 What wil happen with the Nortel Partner Programme?
Partner Advantage, the Nortel Channel Program, will continue until March 31, 2010. As of April 1st, the Avaya Connect Program will be the global channel program for the new Avaya.
464 What is the future of the BCM1000 Product line?
The BCM1000 is currently at the EOL – End of Life – stage of the product lifecycle. Your Avaya sales or partner contact can provide information about attractive upgrade options that preserve investment while making new hardware and software features available.

462 The CS1000 supported the older Merdian option 11c phones, will the Aura do this?
CS 1000 would be a SIP endpoint against Aura Session Manager for example, so phones on the CS 1000 would continue to be supported
461 Will Avaya replace Sprint and Verizon as Government Services Provider for Nortel products?
Both Sprint and Verizon are valued partners of Avaya and have supported both heritage Nortel and heritage Avaya solutions. Avaya Government Solutions is not meant as a replacement for Avaya government partners.

457 who defines high value for PS? as a customer are you saying that i will not have the choice to use Avaya consultancy unless avaya believe it is hgh value?
High value Consulting offers refers to areas that Avaya will focus Pro. Services development and resources. The choice to leverage Avaya directly vs a partner is always up to the customer.
456 Why can’t you sell/support direct in EMEA?
Our current go to market model is through the channel for product sales and support. For specific large accounts that wish to deal directly with Avaya we do contract for Product/Support Directly. For partners who wish to deal directly with Avaya for support we also have Wholesale offers for both Avaya and Nortel heritage portfolios that can be purchased through a Business Partner. Please reach out to your Account Manager for more information.
455 How will future and existing Nortel SRSs be handled?
Nortel SRS is delivered under either the PASS (GU4300), Express (GU6300), or SRS basic (GW5500) offers. These offers will continue to be available as long as new software releases are available. Products on the Integrated Roadmap will migrate to comparable Support Advantage offers.
454 What happend with the SRGs Networks (SRG200, SRG400, SRG50)?
It’s important to note that BCM will continue sold well into 2011, as both a standalone solution or BCM or SRG branch solution. Over time, we will continue to introduce new gateways and solutions that will provide new capabilities and future paths for customers, aligned with our Avaya Aura SIP directions.
453 All I am seeing is one slide “Avaya Integrated Roadmap”. Are there any other slides???

450 What will happen to NORTEL certification? Will it continue or will it be altered?
At this time, these will continue. In the future the competency model will be fully integrated in the Avaya Connect Program.
449 What is the evolution path for Nortel’s call pilot?
Callpilot continues to be supported. The roadmap provides a natural evolution to a next generation UMessaging solution that will leverage best of CallPilot and Modular Messaging products.
448 Will the CS1000 product be discontinued?
There are no plans to discontinue the CS1000 product. Avaya will continue to sell the CS1000 and will invest for cole integration into the Avaya Aura architecture to ensure investment protection for existing and future CS1000 customers.
447 You keep saying Symposium can “upgrade” to Avaya, is it a software upgrade or a total hardware replacement?
The Symposium portfolio was renamed Nortel Contact Center in 2005. Customers upgrading to NES CC7 can be assured of investment protection when Avaya Next Generation Context Center (NGCC) becomes generally available. Avaya’s NGCC brings together the best of the two companies’ technologies. Avaya NGCC represents an up-release for CC7 customers and consequently the upgrade path will be relatively smooth. Both an “AML/MLS” and SIP version of NGCC will be available. CC6/7 AML customers can upgrade directly to the AML version of NGCC, however to take full advantage of the power of the Context Center and take the first step towards the combined power of Avaya AuraTM and NGCC, customers are encouraged to consider the migration to the SIP version of NGCC. Upgrading to CC7 and NGCC is a software upgrade provided the exisitng server hardware meets the platform specification.

445 When does Aura become available for CS1000 integration?
There is in fact already an application note available for CS1000 R6.0 as a SIP endpoint against Aura Session Manager
444 What will happen to HMS400
Hospitality Messaging Server continues to be supported and sold. HMS R2.0 has enabled SIP solutions.
443 will the Nortel 9000 announced for 1H 2010 availablity ship as planned?
VSP 9000 is on target for customer availability in 1H 2010. Please work with your account representative for further details.

441 What is the five year roadmap for the Nortel MPS regarding both hardware and software support?
MPS will continue to be supported and the next release is tentatively scheduled for later this year. MPS will eventually be evolved to Avaya Customer Experience Portal (CXP). Please contact your Avaya account manager for the specifics.
439 What about specific network equipment and/or switches? I am facing a major LAN refresh, and need to know what products will be kept and supported, and what products will be phased out and/or not supported.

440 How does pricing compare between the BCM 50/450 and comparable Avaya IP office solutions. Cusotmers are concerned about protecting their investments while having access to new features. If you have a BCM400 today, do we upgrade to BCM450 or wait and upgrade to IP Office box? Need more details to really map out what to do in 2010???
You have a few options. You can stay on BCM – it will continue to be sold through 2011 (with a new release due soon). We are committed to providing a minimum of 9 months notice prior to any effective end of sale date, and have a combined support policy that totals 6 years for BCM. In the future, we will converge BCM capabilities / features and set support to IP Office.
438 Will AS5300 and AS5100 be supported ? What is the roadmap for AS5300 ? Shall you provide new releases ?
The AS5300 has been rebranded as the Avaya Aura AS5300 platform and is a key element of Avaya’s Roadmap moving forward, especially for the US Government. New releases beyond the already committed Release 2.0 are under consideration for both content and Avaya Aura interoperability. Please see the UC breakout session for further detail.

435 How long will the CS1000 continue to be sold and supported?
No plans to end of sale … R7.0 coming in mid 2010 … plans for after that under way already
436 So if I have a bunch of Nortel opt 61-81 I will need to upgrade to CS-1000 before I can use SIP to connect to the Aura?
Hello. In order to a Meridian to connect to a SIP network you have 2 options: ADD SIP capability to the M1 by upgading it to Rls 6.0 (CS1000) and adding SIP licenses. Thanks for participating.

432 How long will Avaya support Nortel Mics and Cics?
Norstar 3×8, CICS, MICS will be available for sale well into 2011 and supported into 2017. Suggest migrating to BCM now, which will converge into IP Office in the future. At that time, you will get the best of Norstar, BCM, and IP Office – very exciting!
433 Will Nortel call Pilot be phased out ??
CallPilot continues to be available for sale and supported. The UC roadmap provides a view to the next generation Unified Messaging platform that CallPilot customers will have a natural evolution path too.

430 Will there be support discounts that reflect certifications of customer staff?
No. No plans about that.
429 We are on Nortel’s 4.5 software on our CS1000. When will support on this release stop.
CS 1000 R4.5 will reach Retired life cycle state in July 2010. Please refer to product bulletin PB 2009-0094 for the latest CS 1000 LCM update. This bulletin will be updated when CS 1000 R7.0 is available expectedly in early 2nd half 2010.
428 HI, What will the relationship with Microsoft (ICA enterprise)?
The ICA relationship ceased with the Avaya acquisition of Nortel Enterprise Solutions. ICA was based on a four year contract between Nortel and Microsoft that was already scheduled to expire within the year. Avaya has and will continue to work closely with Microsoft to ensure tight integration between our solutions providing customers the greatest flexibility in deploying UC solutions. Current customers with Microsoft OCS integrations with Nortel solutions can continue to utilize their solution as they do today
426 The Nortel 1000 works with the Plant/CML 911 Vest product. Going forward how will this work?
No change – continues to be supported on CS1000.

UCM based products roadmap doesn’t change. All the products – VPFM, EPM, COM and other products are continue on the respective future roadmap

420 What happens with CVAs Division?
The CVAS division is still currently part of Nortel. This division of Nortel is currently in a stalking horse arrangement with GenBand.
419 As we focus on the question of infrastructure of data transmission and interconnection capacity for operating the solutions? minimum mean? Serious problem in Latin America and developing countries?
Avaya is aware of the problems created by the infrastructure which connects Enterprise sites, including bandwidth, delay, security and reliability issues. Avaya’s Secure Router products demstonstrate exceptional Quality of Service capabilities, enabling transmission of real-time traffic over low bandwidth networks. All ANS products, including ERS, Secure Router, WLAN and others deliver both standards compliance and innovative technologies to deliver reliability and resiliency. All ANS products embed multiple levels of security, including encryption, Virtual Private Network capability, Network Access Control, Firewalls and Filters, and many other capabilities to protect corporate and user information. Overall ANS products are ideal for all network environments, including those where the connecting infrastructure may not be ideal.

415 What are Avay’s plans for BCM 5.0? I appologize, but the audio is intermittent
No problem and appreciate the question. Avaya will support all of BCM into 2017, and BCM Rls 6.0 is currently at the plan of intent stage, and Avaya is assessing the business case and customer impact of proposed release content (and potential changes with the convergence roadmap). BCM R6 is currently planned for release in calendar Q2, 2010; more details will be available in the next 60-90 days. The future is really exciting for BCM as we take the best and migrate to IP Office.
414 What is the Avaya’s best solution for an SIP based Unified Communications System to an environment of up to 30,000 users?
Avaya Aura will meet these requirements.
413 How do I get to the UC breakout session or UC roadmap

412 Is there to be any discussion of Avaya strategies for Nortel Periphonics MPS customers who have customized Periphonics IVR applications.
MPS and Peri applications will continue to be supported. The next release of MPS is tentatively scheduled for later this year.
411 How are you integrating wireless, individual users who use their cell phones for “work activities” as well as for personal uses? How will your customers get a consolidated picture between Avaya fixed telephony and Wireless? How will your Customers manage these? I.e. Usage analytics? etc
there are different solutions depending on requirements and platform – one-x mobile, mc3100, mobile extension for example. all have different capabilities and do allow mix of business and personal use via a one number device.
410 The contact center on avaya will change?. we are looking for contact center solution, and right now we are review two solutions. Inoncert and AVAYA.
The Avaya Contact Center roadmap is an evolution to the Next Generation Context Center. Please contact your business partner and account team for more information on the power of NGCC.
409 Will you continue with a service similar to the COAMS that was offered by Nortel that will allow the users to self maintain their own system?
Avaya has a program comparable to the NES COAM program called Self-Maintainer. An integration plan for these two programs is under development. During the interim the NES COAM program will continue status quo.
408 What is Avaya’s strategy towards integration of BCM with OCS?
BCM will remain for sale well into 2011. Longer term the goal is to retain what customers like best about BCM while integrating with the unique elements of the Avaya IP Office communications solution. As such, select BCM/Norstar phones, management/configuration elements and selected BCM features will be converged within the IP Office platform. OCS integration, which is not currently available on BCM, will be assessed as part of the broader IP Office convergence roadmap. Additional details will be communicated in the next 60-90 days.
407 Do you have a product that will intergrate with a 911 solution?
Avaya Aura solution does have integrated 911/ESA solutions plus various DevConnect products further enhance the offering. CS 1000 solution does have integrated 911/ESA solutions plus various Development Partner products further enhance the offering.
406 What about the Meridian plataform of Nortel?
The Meridian platform, know as the CS1000 will continue to be supported and sold by Avaya moving forward. There will be tight integration of the CS1000 into Avaya Aura architecture via SIP to ensure investment protection for customer’s CS1000 assets.
405 When and where can I find out what specific nortel networking products will be discontinued,etc.?

404 What about Call Pilot 5.0?
call pilot 5.0 continues to be supported and onyl recently added new functionality via a service update
403 What will be your version of a Nortel BCM 450
BCM450 will continue for sales well into 2011 and support into 2017. The goal is to retain what channel partners and customers like best while integrating the unique elements of the Avaya IP Office communications solution. As such, BCM / Norstar Digital T-Series Phones, select Mobility and IP Phones, management/configuration elements, and selected BCM features will be converged within the IP Office platform. We’ll be working closely with partners throughout the evolution process, and more details will be communicated within the next 60-90 days. It’s important to note that BCM will continue sold well into 2011, as both a standalone solution or BCM or SRG branch solution. The convergence towards a IP Office helps to streamline and simplify the portfolio while increasing our focus on innovation and balancing the investment protection of our partners and customers.

398 Will there be support for Nortel SCS Platform?
Absolutely! As SCS represents a signficant opportunity for Avaya and our IT-centric channel partners, we will continue to invest heavily in both the roadmap and go-to-market strategy. SCS is also based on open standards (SIP) and web services, which completely aligns with the Avaya corporate strategic direction.

396 What will happen with Nortel ETAS support going forward?
Nortel heritage support teams will continue to support respective portfolios with cross-training of associates to broaden skills.
395 Will there be a trade-in program to migrate these Option Series and BMC customers to an Avaya platform?
Authentic Avaya has a “trade in / trade up” program that provides rebates on specific components, including components from some Nortel platforms. Please download the program details from the Avaya partner portal to determine specific components that are eligible for the trade in rebates.
394 Will Nortel certifications transfer to Avaya Certifications?
No, but certain Nortel certifications will be accepted under the Avaya Connect channel program for Fiscal Year 2010.
393 What is the projected Life of the CS1000E?
No projected end of sales for CS 1000 planned currently. Please refer to product bulletin P 2009-0094 for the current LCM policy and plans. CS 1000 R7.0 program has just gone plan of record for availability in early 2nd half of 2010. Knowledge transfers and presentations to be available in Q2 2010.

391 Im using BCM400 for our 911 Departement. Do i need to upgrade it? Do you still support IT?
We will support BCM400 per the PIC notification. BCM400 customers are encouraged to evolve to the latest version of the BCM450 to remain current, which offers increased simplicity, scalability, and value added Unified Communications features.
390 What about CallPilot
CallPilot continues to be supported. A new Avaya next generation unified messaging solution will eventually replace CallPilot. Utilities will be provided to facilitate migration to the new solution. Refer to the UC breakout session for more detail.
389 I have not noticed any mention of SONET platforms. How will these be supported?
The platforms may be supported by your heritage Nortel business partner, Avaya Government Solutions with regard to US Government, or by the Nortel MEN business unit. Assuming the deal close with Ciena occurs in February, Ciena will be the manufacturer supporting the Nortel optical solutions.
388 What about the CS1000 DECT and WiFi handsets?
no change planned at this time

386 What Aura promotions are there now?
Avaya has just released new promotions to move the Nortel customers forward with loyalty discounts. Paths covered by the promotions include 1) Upgrade to latest release of NES product including UC, CC and SME products 2) refresh to UC Avaya Aura based solution with loyalty discounts on licensing. This includes a front-ending configuration for a gradual transition, or a full technology refresh. 3) Additional promotions for Avaya Meeting Exchange Collaboration, and Modular Messaging are also available. Please check with your Avaya Sales representative or Authorized dealer for details.

384 Will there be a straight forward map showing availability end dates for CS1000E – CS1000M, SG, MG- Call Pilot – VoiceMail CC7 – Contact Center Call Center Express Wireless -6140 and others Handsets – IP (1100’s) and 3900 series BCM etc MCS5100 – multimedia Norstar BCM Other applications – MIRAN etc

To remain current, BCM400 customers have two options, to evolve to 5.0 (the latest release) or migrate to the BCM450 platform, which offers increased simplicity, scalability, and value added Unified Communications features.
380 if a customer has a maintenance contract delivered by a partner can they buy T&M services from AVAYA direct
T&M support will only be available for EOL product. For Nortel heritage products, Customers will only be able to use T&M to access Tech Support for unrestricted (i.e. Data) EOL products.
379 norstar/bcm are going to be migrated to what platform in 2011?
Norstar customers should upgrade to BCM now, which is available well into 2011. Support into 2017. During this time, IP Office will carry on with the best features from BCM and Norstar.

option 11 continues as it did before this deal closed – no change to life cycle management at this time
