AT&T Wireless Priority Service in Canada

AT&T Wireless Priority Service in Canada

If you are a US AT&T Wireless Priority Subscriber who visits Canada often for work or leisure or if you are planning to attend the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, there’s good news for you – The AT&T Wireless Priority Service is now available to roaming subscribers in Canada.

AT&T has tied up with Rogers Wireless to provide this service to it’s subscribers in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics. What’s more, AT&T is planning to offer lower pricing plans for it’s Wireless Priority Service next month by eliminating the activation fee and reducing the monthly recurring charges. AT&T and Rogers Wireless have been working on building a close cross border relationship and this announcement is a testimony that this relationship will be a win-win situation for both carriers as well as the customers.

The official AT&T statement mentions:

“With an increasing number of national security and emergency preparedness personnel relying on cell phones, the AT&T Wireless Priority Service can help them to respond quickly in an emergency by improving access to the wireless network,” said Stacey Black, assistant vice president, mobility product management, AT&T Business Solutions. We’re pleased to provide the choice of expanded service to our government customers requiring cross-border wireless communications in Canada.”
