TGIF: Second Apple Store And iPad Arriving Together For Edmontonians

by Gaurav Kheterpal on May 26, 2010

The iPad is all set to arrive in Canada in less than 48 hours from now. It’s a double treat if you reside in Edmonton as the iPad launch coincides with the opening of second Apple store in the city this Friday. The doors of its newest Southgate Centre Apple Store (as well as all other stores) will be opened at 8 a.m. on Friday, Apple said on its website. The store is located near the north entrance of the mall, at 11100 51st Avenue and is the 15th Apple Store in Canada.

Apple has also published useful tips for iPad shoppers in order to avoid mad rush when the much-awaited gadget makes its international debut on Friday. The public response to the iPad in U.S. has been overwhelming and Apple is making all possible efforts to make it an international best-seller. Will the iPad be a resounding success story in Canada as well?

Canadians have been able to pre-order the iPads since last month. Apple plans to launch both the Wi-Fi only and the Wi-Fi + 3G iPad versions internationally on Friday. Here are Apple’s shopping tips for the iPad.

1. Shop early. Shop late. The store tends to be busiest in the middle of the day.

2. Make an appointment. Test-drive new products and learn all about them by making a Personal Shopping appointment.

3. Check out anywhere. When you use your credit card for purchases, any Specialist can check you out on the spot.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you have any questions, just ask. Any of our Specialists can point you in the right direction.

There’s no official word on the stocks in any of the stores and sales are subject to “while supplies last” clause. The international launch on Friday includes Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. In a related move, the iBooks app is now available for download. In the UK, Apple has been using an email campaign which says that the iPad retail stores are the best place to experience the iPad and offers specialist help to show you all the amazing things it can do.

Will you be queuing up to buy your iPad? Good luck and Happy Shopping!
