Avaya President of Canadian Operations Leaves Company

by Jeff Wiener on March 3, 2016

In an announcement that undoubtedly surprised many of us involved in the Avaya community, the company confirmed earlier this week that president and managing director of its Canadian operations, Walter Andri, has left Avaya to pursue other options.

Avaya released a statement on Andri’s departure:

“Walter Andri has left Avaya to pursue other professional interests,” a company spokesperson told CDN in an email exchange. “Jocelyn Larochelle is acting as interim Sales Leader for Canada while the new managing director arrives.”

While nothing can be said about the specific reasons behind Andri’s departure, it does come at a time when Avaya is clearly reshuffling its executive deck, as it were, as we’ve seen changes to several executive positions over the last year or so.

Andri’s departure from Avaya comes just over a year after he assumed the role as head of the unified communications company’s operations north of the border. Before coming to Avaya, Andri served as the senior vice president of sales for Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc. for a year and a longer tenure at Telus in various vice presidential offices.

There is no word yet on Andri’s replacement.

Given that this is clearly a developing story (one getting very little press I might add), there will likely be more to add in the coming days.
